The Blue Dolphin Diving School
 The Blue Dolphin Diving School is more than a place for divers to spend their holiday. Based at Jasmine Court Hotel Beech, one mile west of Kyrenia Old Harbour, unlike other dive centres that charge entry to the beech for family members, it provides free entry to the beech and water sports facilities for the whole family. Here, while one member of the family can indulge his or her passion in diving, the rest of the family can enjoy Water Skiing, Banana Rides, Windsurfing, Parasailing or whatever. If you know of a water sport other than these be assured that Blue Dolphin Water Sport and Diving Centre caters for it.
Kyrenia is the main centre for diving schools on the island and is home to one of the few schools in the world, and the only school in Cyprus, that is qualified to run a wide range of courses, not just the basic underwater diving course for beginners but also diving instructor training for the more advanced divers. These are Advanced Open Water Diver course, Emergency First Response Course, Rescue Diver’s Course and Dive Masters Course. Certification is given in the Padi 5 star gold palm IDC (Instructor Development Centre); in addition BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) SMAS (World Underwater Federation) and SSI (Scuba Services Instruction) and PADI Professional Association of Diving Instructors. |

Within easy reach of the Jasmine Court Hotel Beech there are eighteen excellent dive sites, which the Blue Dolphin Diving School instructors know intimately. These range from 14 to 50 meters giving a wide spectrum of opportunity for both learner divers and the more experienced. In addition, every Thursday the group is driven to Larnaca to dive on the Zenobio wreck that lies off Larnaca. This is considered among the top ten accessible sunken vessels in the world providing a wide range of diving opportunities from easy, newly qualified diving to 16 meters depth as well as the more advanced diving suitable only for the very experienced divers.

When in Larnaca The Blue Dolphin school dives off a beautiful, historical boat that was first built for and owned by Mr Glafkos Klerides; twice president of Cyprus; latterly for 10 years from 1993 to 2003.

In Kyrenia diving is from three professional inflatable boats taking 15 divers each. But there are occasions when divers get a special thrill of silent sailing and diving off the Catamaran, or off the 1.9 meter teak and mahogany Gullet, the vessels used for boat trips, which along with Blue Dolphin Diving School is also owned and run by Gürdal Mehmetcik. The whole family may accompany divers on these magnificent vessels enjoying all the facilities of the vessels and diving into the crystal clear waters from their decks.
Gürdal MEHMETÇİK a Padi Master Instructor - Cmas 3 Star is arguably the most highly qualified and experienced diver on the island with 29 years of diving and instructing. He reports that, due to the close supervision and thorough training given to all pupils in the classroom and in the water, the decompression chamber that is available to his school free of charge at Nicosia Hospital has never needed to be used for any of his pupils. |

The Blue Dolphin School has sufficient personnel and equipment resources to cater for 40 divers on two deep diving trips every day at 10:00 hrs and 14:30 hrs. Just turn up half an hour before the scheduled times after booking on line or by ‘phone, at the Jasmine Court Hotel Centre. Trial dives and beginners courses start daily at 12:00 hours. Courses will be conducted for groups of anything from one to 15 divers at a time.
For a diving course that is a complete experience of sailing, water sports and diving for the whole family and for all ages there is nowhere in the world to go but The Blue Dolphin Diving Centre in Northern Cyprus. The waters are not just clear they are also warm and the island has no tides to worry about. The diving season is among the longest in the world, from April to Christmas but the sun sparkles on the surface of the clear water illuminating the subterranean flora and fauna almost 365 days a year. An underwater camera is essential if you are not to be exasperated trying to relate the wonders of the Northern Cyprus under water coast line to your friends without the benefit of the photographs that you will be frustrated not to have taken.
